{"id":9836,"date":"2026-04-22T07:01:40","date_gmt":"2026-04-22T07:01:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ofero.news\/?p=9836"},"modified":"2026-04-22T07:01:40","modified_gmt":"2026-04-22T07:01:40","slug":"romanian-minister-warns-psd-leaving-ruling-coalition-risks-derailing-eu-funded-reforms","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ofero.news\/?p=9836","title":{"rendered":"Romanian minister warns PSD leaving ruling coalition risks derailing EU-funded reforms"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Romania risks losing billions of euros in EU funding if political instability disrupts reform efforts, minister of investments and European projects <strong>Drago\u0219 P\u00eeslaru<\/strong> said, criticising the Social Democratic Party (PSD) for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.romania-insider.com\/romanian-social-democrats-overwhelmingly-vote-withdraw-support-liberal-pm\" target=\"_blank\">withdrawing support for prime minister Ilie Bolojan<\/a>, according to a Facebook statement published on April 20 immediately after PSD\u2019s decision to withdraw political support for the PM.<\/p>\n<p>P\u00eeslaru said PSD\u2019s decision to step back from the ruling coalition comes at a critical stage for the implementation of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), under which Romania is set to receive around EUR 10 billion by August 2026, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.economica.net\/avertisment-al-ministrului-fondurilor-europene-riscam-sa-pierdem-8-miliarde-de-euro-din-pnrr-mai-mult-de-jumatate-din-reforme-sunt-la-ministerele-psd_933636.html?mc_cid=74688138b0&amp;mc_eid=cd1f92f96c\" target=\"_blank\">Economica.net<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe PSD leadership\u2019s decision to abandon Romania is an act of irresponsibility at a critical moment for our country,\u201d he said, adding that \u201cthe PSD leadership\u2019s priority is not the development of Romania, but the avoidance of reforms that disturb the party\u2019s interests.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to the minister, PSD-led ministries are responsible for a significant share of the reform agenda. He said 57% of critical reforms and 36% of remaining targets and milestones under the PNRR fall under their coordination.<\/p>\n<p>P\u00eeslaru warned that failure to complete these reforms could put more than EUR 6 billion at risk.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo leave the government now means to leave these reforms without political commitment, exactly when efforts need to be accelerated to achieve them.
