{"id":9775,"date":"2026-04-16T13:00:23","date_gmt":"2026-04-16T13:00:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ofero.news\/?p=9775"},"modified":"2026-04-16T13:00:23","modified_gmt":"2026-04-16T13:00:23","slug":"latest-films-by-radu-jude-pedro-almodovar-juliette-binoche-screened-at-transilvania-international-film-festival","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ofero.news\/?p=9775","title":{"rendered":"Latest films by Radu Jude, Pedro Almod\u00f3var, Juliette Binoche screened at Transilvania International Film Festival"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Radu Jude\u2019s <em>Diary of a Chambermaid<\/em>, which will <a href=\"https:\/\/www.romania-insider.com\/jude-directors-fortnight-apr-2026\" target=\"_blank\">premiere in this year\u2019s Cannes Directors\u2019 Fortnight<\/a>, and Pedro Almod\u00f3var\u2019s <em>Bitter Christmas<\/em>, selected in Cannes Film Festival\u2019s main competition, will be presented as previews at the 25th edition of the Transilvania International Film Festival (TIFF), the largest film festival in the country.<\/p>\n<p>The festival will also screen <em>In-I In Motion<\/em>, the directorial debut of Juliette Binoche documenting the dance performance she created with choreographer Akram Khan, and Lance Hammer\u2019s <em>Queen at Sea<\/em>, also starring Binoche. The film won two Silver Bears at the Berlinale, including a joint award for Best Supporting Performance for Tom Courtenay and Anna Calder-Marshall.<\/p>\n<p>Maryam Touzani\u2019s <em>Calle Malaga<\/em>, winner of the Audience Award in Venice and starring Almod\u00f3var longtime collaborator and muse Carmen Maura, will also be screened at the festival, as will the queer drama <em>Maspalomas<\/em>, directed by Jose Mari Goenaga and Aitor Arregi. The film, which follows an elderly man who chooses to conceal his sexual orientation after moving into a retirement home, was awarded at San Sebasti\u00e1n and at the Goya Awards, where Jos\u00e9 Ram\u00f3n Soroiz was named Best Actor.<\/p>\n<p>The TIFF audience can also see R\u00e9mi Bezan\u00e7on\u2019s policier <em>Murder in the Building<\/em>, starring Laetitia Casta and Gilles Lellouche, and Anders Thomas Jensen\u2019s black comedy <em>The Last Viking<\/em>, starring Mads Mikkelsen.<\/p>\n<p>Other titles to be shown at the Cluj-Napoca festival include Gabriele Muccino\u2019s melodrama <em>With The Things Left Unspoken<\/em>, a box office hit in Italy; Teona Strugar Mitevska\u2019s <em>Mother<\/em>, starring Noomi Rapace as Mother Teresa; Larry Yang\u2019s <em>The Shadow\u2019s Edge<\/em>, starring Jackie Chan; and Lee Sang-il\u2019s <em>Kokuho<\/em>, which has become the highest-grossing Japanese film of all time.
