According to the Presidential Administration, the meeting agenda<\/a> includes discussions on the situation in the Middle East and its implications for Romania, as well as the possible temporary deployment of military assets in the country.<\/p>\n Sources cited by Digi24<\/a> said the United States requested the deployment of troops and fighter aircraft at the Mihail Kog\u0103lniceanu air base in Constan\u021ba County, a strategic NATO facility, amid the conflict between the United States, Israel, and Iran. The meeting was scheduled for 9:30 AM to reportedly allow time for the decision to be sent to Parliament the same day if approved, as the deployment of foreign troops and military operations on Romanian territory requires parliamentary approval.<\/p>\n The Mihail Kog\u0103lniceanu base has been used in previous military operations and is considered an important NATO hub in the region.
