{"id":9052,"date":"2026-02-26T06:03:07","date_gmt":"2026-02-26T06:03:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ofero.news\/?p=9052"},"modified":"2026-02-26T06:03:07","modified_gmt":"2026-02-26T06:03:07","slug":"pavel-braila-exhibition-to-open-in-bucharest-before-artist-represents-moldova-at-venice-biennale","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ofero.news\/?p=9052","title":{"rendered":"Pavel Br\u0103ila exhibition to open in Bucharest before artist represents Moldova at Venice Biennale"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Echoes of Harmony and Silent Cries<\/em>, an exhibition encompassing works by artist Pavel Br\u0103ila, is scheduled to open at Bucharest gallery Gaep on February 27.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition, the artist\u2019s second solo one with Gaep, features three new series of works, namely glass sculptures, ceramic objects, and paintings, which are seen as \u201ccontainers of grief and solidarity.\u201d Their meaning will be highlighted by a live performance with a professional mourner, Zamfira Ludovica Mure\u0219an, during the opening of the exhibition.<\/p>\n<p>This year, Br\u0103ila is set to represent the Republic of Moldova at the International Art Exhibition \u2013 La Biennale di Venezia, the country\u2019s first participation in the event. The pavilion presents Br\u0103ila\u2019s project <em>On the Thousand and Second Night<\/em>, curated by Adelina Luft.<\/p>\n<p>Responding to the theme of Biennale Arte 2026, <em>In Minor Keys<\/em>, the project &#8220;opens a space for reflection in which imagination and material culture operate as forms of continuity within a world undergoing transformation.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><em>Pavel Bra\u0306ila and Adelina Luft Photo: Sorin Florea<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Pavel Br\u0103ila, who lives and works between Chi\u0219in\u0103u and Berlin, has participated in major international art exhibitions and film festivals. He is one of the few artists selected twice for the contemporary art exhibition <em>documenta <\/em>(documenta 11, Kassel, 2002, and documenta 14, Kassel and Athens, 2017). He also took part in Manifesta 10 (St. Petersburg, 2014) and created the artistic concept for the first Moldovan Pavilion at the World Expo (Milan, 2015). His film <em>Definitively Unfinished<\/em> was awarded at the Oberhausen International Film Festival 2009.<\/p>\n<p>His works have been featured in solo or group shows at Neue Nationalgalerie (Berlin), Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen (Rotterdam), Tate Modern (London), The Renaissance Society (Chicago), K\u00f6lnischer Kunstverein, Moderna Museet (Stockholm), and many more.
