{"id":8844,"date":"2026-02-11T14:01:06","date_gmt":"2026-02-11T14:01:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ofero.news\/?p=8844"},"modified":"2026-02-11T14:01:06","modified_gmt":"2026-02-11T14:01:06","slug":"romanian-films-presented-in-five-sections-of-this-years-berlinale","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ofero.news\/?p=8844","title":{"rendered":"Romanian films presented in five sections of this year\u2019s Berlinale"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Romanian films will be screened in five sections of this year\u2019s <em>Berlinale<\/em>, the Romanian Cultural Institute (ICR) in Berlin announced.<\/p>\n<p>Radu Jude and Adrian Ciofl\u00e2nc\u0103\u2019s <em>Shot Reverse Shot \/ Plan Contraplan <\/em>will screen in the <em>Berlinale Shorts<\/em> section. The documentary juxtaposes the photographs taken by American journalist Edward Serotta in communist Romania and the clandestine images of the Securitate, &#8220;offering a surprising perspective on history.&#8221; In the same section, the Romania-France-Lebanon coproduction <em>Someday, a Child\/Yawman ma walad<\/em>, directed by Marie-Rose Osta, follows a gifted boy who lives under the daily threat of conflict in a Lebanese village.<\/p>\n<p>Tudor Cristian Jurgiu\u2019s feature film <em>On Our Own\/ De capul nostru<\/em> has been selected in the <em>Forum<\/em> section. The movie deals with the emotional isolation of a teenager trying to create a surrogate family for two runaway children.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, Paul Negoescu\u2019s <em>Atlas of the Universe<\/em> has been selected in the <em>Generation Kplus<\/em> section, aimed at young audiences and not only. The film follows ten-year-old Filip as he takes his first steps towards independence and growing up. Producers Irina Enea and Adriana Bumbe\u0219 will be present at the Berlinale and will also take part in the KIDS Regio \u2013 Berlinale Meeting Point 2026 with the children\u2019s feature <em>Kid Hazard<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Producer Anda Ionescu and director and screenwriter Cristina Gro\u0219an will take part in the <em>Berlinale Co-Pro Series 2026<\/em> with the TV mini-series <em>Angelmaker<\/em>, currently in development.<\/p>\n<p>The festival\u2019s <em>Retrospective<\/em> section includes Harun Farocki and Andrei Ujic\u0103\u2019s <em>Videograms of a Revolution<\/em>, a documentary based on archival footage of the 1989 Revolution.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, ICR Berlin will also present <em>Playlab<\/em>, an experimental platform dedicated to interdisciplinary dialogue and the promotion of young Romanian creators. This year\u2019s edition, titled <em>Love, Fear, and Other Rituals. Romanian Film &amp; Art Lounge Berlinale 2026<\/em>, allows visitors to discover Romanian student short films and contemporary visual art projects that explore themes such as love, fear, and current rituals.
