The Conservation Carpathia Foundation will inaugurate the “Beaver House” Visitor Center in Ruc\u0103r, Arge\u0219 County, on July 16, as part of the efforts to establish the F\u0103g\u0103ra\u0219 Mountains National Park.\u00a0<\/p>\n
According to the foundation’s representatives, the center in Ruc\u0103r is the first in a network of visitor centers focusing on various animals that Conservation Carpathia is constructing around the F\u0103g\u0103ra\u0219 Mountains.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The center aims to provide interested visitors with useful information about beavers and their role in nature.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“We are developing the visitor infrastructure for the future F\u0103g\u0103ra\u0219 Mountains National Park and encouraging visitors to contribute to nature conservation. The ‘Beaver House’ Visitor Center was carefully and respectfully built by the Conservation Carpathia Foundation, with the support of the European Commission through the LIFE program,” the foundation stated in a release cited by G4Media<\/a>.<\/p>\n The beaver population was declining in Romania until they were reintroduced. Reintroduction projects were carried out by the Faculty of Forestry Sciences in Bra\u0219ov, which populated the Olt, Ialomi\u021ba, and Mure\u0219 rivers, and Conservation Carpathia, which worked along the rivers D\u00e2mbovi\u021ba, Arge\u0219el and R\u00e2ul T\u00e2rgului, in Arge\u0219 county.<\/p>\n
