{"id":8724,"date":"2026-02-04T10:00:31","date_gmt":"2026-02-04T10:00:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ofero.news\/?p=8724"},"modified":"2026-02-04T10:00:31","modified_gmt":"2026-02-04T10:00:31","slug":"romanian-citizen-arrested-for-attempted-sabotage-of-german-navy-ships","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ofero.news\/?p=8724","title":{"rendered":"Romanian citizen arrested for attempted sabotage of German Navy ships"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two men, a 37-year-old Romanian and a 54-year-old Greek citizen, have been arrested in Germany and Greece, respectively, suspected of attempted sabotage of several ships belonging to the German Navy, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.news.ro\/externe\/roman-grec-arestati-germania-grecia-suspectati-sabotarea-unor-nave-marinei-germane-hamburg-au-pus-pietris-motorul-unei-corvete-au-perforat-conducte-apa-au-scos-capacele-rezervoarelor-carburant-1922404503002026021622333472\">News.ro<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>They allegedly introduced \u201cover 20 kilograms of abrasive gravel into a ship\u2019s engine, perforated freshwater supply pipes, removed fuel tank caps, and deactivated the ship\u2019s electronic system circuit breakers,\u201d the Public Prosecutor\u2019s Office stated.<\/p>\n<p>They are also suspected of other attempted acts of sabotage. However, the arrest warrant currently concerns only one ship, the prosecutor\u2019s office told AFP, cited by News.ro.<\/p>\n<p>The two are suspected of committing these acts in 2025, \u201cas part of their activities\u201d in the port area of Hamburg, according to prosecutors. At the time, they were working at the Port of Hamburg on several corvettes of the German Federal Navy, moored at the shipyard.<\/p>\n<p>The acts of sabotage were discovered during an inspection at the shipyard.
