In a reaction on social media, she pointed to the aftermath of the September 11 attacks, when Romania answered the call, \u201ceven without being a NATO member at that time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Writing on X, Oana \u021aoiu said president Donald Trump asked European leaders at Davos whether Europe would respond if the United States called for support. \u201cHistory answered that question already,\u201d she replied.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe only time in its history NATO was tested on the promise that an attack on one is an attack on all was after 9\/11,\u201d she said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRomania answered the call, even without being NATO member at that time. We understood this to be our duty and once the Article 5 was triggered, Romanian soldiers were boarding for Afghanistan.
