{"id":8425,"date":"2026-01-15T12:01:02","date_gmt":"2026-01-15T12:01:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ofero.news\/?p=8425"},"modified":"2026-01-15T12:01:02","modified_gmt":"2026-01-15T12:01:02","slug":"places-described-in-famous-mihai-eminescu-poems-can-be-visited-in-romania","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ofero.news\/?p=8425","title":{"rendered":"Places described in famous Mihai Eminescu poems can be visited in Romania"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mihai Eminescu, Romania\u2019s celebrated national poet, described actual places in many of his poems, and some can still be visited today.\u00a0 Verses written in iconic poems like <em>C\u0103lin (file de poveste)<\/em> describe places in V\u00e2n\u0103tori Neam\u021b Natural Park, part of the ecotourism destination \u021ainutul Zimbrului, according to a press release.<\/p>\n<p>Visitors can actually step through the Copper Forest (<em>P\u0103durea de Argint<\/em> in the Eminescu poem) and the Silver Forest (<em>Codrii de Aram\u0103<\/em>), just as the poet did.<\/p>\n<p>The former take their name from the copper hue that the oak leaves acquire in autumn. The forest is located on Filiorul Hill, and at its base flows the Filioara stream, among meadows, small marshes, and clumps of willows. The area hosts sessile oaks and other oak species that can reach 135 years, alongside over 300 plant species.<\/p>\n<p>A short distance away is the Silver Forest. The area is a forest reserve in Agapia commune, on the lower terrace of the Topoli\u021ba stream. It is a birch forest, some trees are over a century old, and its name comes from the silvery appearance of the trees during the cold season. The reserve covers an area of over two hectares, according to the press release.<\/p>\n<p>The Copper Forests and the Silver Forest are located near V\u0103ratec Monastery, where Veronica Micle, the muse of Mihai Eminescu\u2019s poetry, often resided. Nowadays, nearby is the Veronica Micle Memorial House, located in the old center of T\u00e2rgu Neam\u021b, the only memorial house dedicated to the poetess.<\/p>\n<p>Originally built in 1834 from wood and brick, in authentic Romanian style, the house was reconstructed according to the original plan and arranged as a museum in 1984. Visitors can discover photocopies, manuscripts, books, and personal objects that belonged to Veronica Micle, as well as themed rooms that recreate the atmosphere of the era and her workspace, where she wrote some of her poems and correspondence with Mihai Eminescu.<\/p>\n<p>The Eminescu-themed journey in the \u021ainutul Zimbrului ecotourism destination could naturally also lead to the \u201cmonastery hospital\u201d of Neam\u021b Monastery, where the poet spent several months as a patient and where his legend takes on an intimate and unexpected nuance.<\/p>\n<p>The \u021ainutul Zimbrului ecotourism overlaps with V\u00e2n\u0103tori Neam\u021b Natural Park, the town of T\u00e2rgu Neam\u021b, and the communes of Agapia, B\u0103l\u021b\u0103te\u0219ti, Cr\u0103c\u0103oani, and V\u00e2n\u0103tori Neam\u021b.
