{"id":6763,"date":"2025-09-15T11:00:28","date_gmt":"2025-09-15T11:00:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ofero.news\/?p=6763"},"modified":"2025-09-15T11:00:28","modified_gmt":"2025-09-15T11:00:28","slug":"former-general-manager-of-timisoara-airport-indicted-in-abuse-of-office-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ofero.news\/?p=6763","title":{"rendered":"Former general manager of Timi\u0219oara Airport indicted in abuse of office case"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Romania\u2019s anti-corruption prosecutors have indicted Timi\u0219oara Airport\u2019s former general manager Iulian Daniel Idolu and five board members on charges of abuse of office, alleging they illegally extended Idolu\u2019s mandate without a competitive selection process.<\/p>\n<p>The National Anti-Corruption Directorate (DNA) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dna.ro\/comunicat.xhtml?id=13011\" target=\"_blank\">said<\/a> Iulian Daniel Idolu, who served as general manager of \u201cTraian Vuia\u201d Timi\u0219oara International Airport, and board members Marian Liviu Mocan, Ciprian Corneliu Jichici, Miruna Alexandra Vicol, Teodor Bar, and Adrian Valentin Negoi\u021b\u0103 signed documents in 2019 that unlawfully renewed Idolu\u2019s four-year term.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Two legal advisers, Alexandra Avram and Ciprian Sabin Venter, were also indicted for complicity.<\/p>\n<p>The prosecutors said the alleged actions caused financial damage of RON 263,717 to the state-owned company, representing salaries paid between September 2019 and July 2020, when Iulian Daniel Idolu served as both GM and executive board member. The undue benefit for Idolu himself was estimated at RON 165,399.<\/p>\n<p>The airport has joined the case as a civil party seeking damages equal to the loss.
