{"id":6746,"date":"2025-09-12T12:00:24","date_gmt":"2025-09-12T12:00:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ofero.news\/?p=6746"},"modified":"2025-09-12T12:00:24","modified_gmt":"2025-09-12T12:00:24","slug":"junot-diaz-tracy-chevalier-michel-bussi-iasi-literature-festival-announces-first-guests-at-2025-edition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ofero.news\/?p=6746","title":{"rendered":"Junot D\u00edaz, Tracy Chevalier, Michel Bussi: Ia\u0219i literature festival announces first guests at 2025 edition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Pulitzer Prize winner Junot D\u00edaz, Tracy Chevalier, the author of the international best seller <em>Girl with a Pearl Earring<\/em>, and French author Michel Bussi, known for his widely translated thriller novels, are among the authors set to attend this year\u2019s <em>Ia\u0219i International Literature and Translation Festival <\/em>(FILIT), the largest literary festival in the country.<\/p>\n<p>They will be joined by authors Nick Bradley (United Kingdom), Dorota Mas\u0142owska (Poland), Alma Mathijsen (Netherlands), Judith Poznan (Germany), Nikola Scott (Germany), Leo Vardiashvili (Georgia, United Kingdom), Carlo Vecce (Italy), and Isidoros Zourgos (Greece).<\/p>\n<p>Three established Ukrainian authors, directly involved in the ongoing war, will also attend the festival. They are Olena Herasymiuk, a poet, combat participant, paramedic, and civic activist; Pavlo Matyusha, a poet, author, translator, and captain in the Armed Forces of Ukraine; and Serhii Demciuk, writer, journalist, and a soldier in the Second International Legion for the Defense of Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>Romanian auteur Cristian Mungiu is another guest of the event, as are other Romanian authors Shauki Al-Gareeb, Cezarina Anghilac, Lorina B\u0103lteanu, Ioana B\u00e2ldea Constantinescu, Florin Bican, Corin Braga, Mimi Br\u0103nescu, Ruxandra Cesereanu, Marian Coman, Bogdan Cre\u021bu, Silvia Dumitru, Cristian Fula\u0219, Tudor Ganea, Andrei Gorzo, Ciprian Mitoceanu, Veronica D. Niculescu, Daniela Ra\u021biu, Andreea R\u0103suceanu, Ligia Ruscu, Radu Vancu, and Alina Voinea.<\/p>\n<p>Also present at FILIT 2025 will be translators who contribute to promoting Romanian literature: Sindre Andersen (Norway), Anita Bernacchia (Italy), Monica Cure (Romania\/USA), Peter Groth (Germany), Laure Hinckel (France), Rados\u0142awa Janowska-Lascar (Poland), \u0110ura Mio\u010dinovi\u0107 (Serbia), Corina Oproae (Spain), Szonda Szabolcs (Romania \u2013 Hungarian), and Ji\u0159ina Vyor\u00e1lkov\u00e1 (Czech Republic).<\/p>\n<p>FILIT will host a stage of the CELA \u2013 Connecting Emerging Literary Artists partner festivals tour, which supports writers and translators in languages with low editorial visibility. Writers Ajda Bra\u010di\u010d (Slovenia) and Corinne Heyrman (Netherlands\/Belgium) will take part in a conversation with their translators, Sergiu Lozinschi (Slovenian), M\u0103d\u0103lina Balea, and Andreea B\u0103lteanu (Dutch).
