Romanian student Eduard Florin \u0218tefan, aged 11, from the \u201cNicolae Titulescu\u201d Secondary School in Caracal, won the gold medal at the \u201cCopernicus\u201d International Mathematics Olympiad held in New York.<\/p>\n
\u0218tefan, who graduated from the 4th grade in June, ranked first in the Global Round, in the first age category. Eduard \u0218tefan’s mother, Anca Maria \u0218tefan, told Agerpres<\/a> that he achieved the highest score in his age category, among a total of 70 contestants.<\/p>\n \u201cHe climbed, with the Romanian flag, to the highest step of the podium in New York,\u201d said Anca Maria \u0218tefan.\u00a0<\/p>\n In a message posted on Facebook, representatives of the \u201cNicolae Titulescu\u201d Secondary School Caracal congratulated the student. \u201cThrough your splendid victory, you have shown that work, dedication, and passion are essential for success. You impressed in front of competitors from all over the world! Enjoy this moment of glory and continue to follow your dreams with the same ambition! Bravo, Edi Florin Stefan!\u201d the institution noted.<\/p>\n Eduard Florin \u0218tefan has also won two additional gold medals this year at international mathematics competitions, specifically at the International STEM Olympiad \u2013 Mathematics and the international mathematics competition \u201cMath International Challenge,\u201d held in Thailand in February.<\/p>\n
