Below is a selection of upcoming events.<\/h4>\n<p><strong><em>Ceau, Cinema!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>July 16 \u2013 July 20, Timi\u015foara<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The 12th edition of the event features a comprehensive program, encompassing Romanian film premieres, a Ken Loach Focus, a cineconcert featuring a silent cinema classic, and outdoor screenings, among other highlights. The festival will also present three films that established Wim Wenders internationally as a leading representative of the New German Cinema movement in restored versions. Delphine &amp; Muriel Coulin&#8217;s <em>The Quiet Son<\/em> will be screened at the opening gala. More details on the program <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ceaucinema.ro\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Alba Iulia Music and Film Festival<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>July 25 \u2013 July 27, Alba Iulia<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Alba Carolina Fortress plays host to this event screening recent films awarded at major international festivals and movies from the TIFF selection. The public can also meet actors and directors for various Q&amp;A sessions. The event program is updated <a href=\"https:\/\/albafilmfest.ro\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Romanian Film Evenings<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>August 6 \u2013 August 10, Ia\u015fi<\/em><\/p>\n<p>This year&#8217;s edition is dedicated to &#8220;women who give voice, color, and courage to cinema, theater, and music.&#8221; The festival opens with a screening of <em>Traffic<\/em>, directed by director Teodora Ana Mihai from a script by Cristian Mungiu. The film is inspired by the real case of a burglary carried out by a group of Romanians at the Kunsthal Rotterdam in October 2012.\u00a0Teodora Ana Mihai will attend the screening alongside actors Rare\u0219 Andrici and Ionu\u021b Niculae. Antonia Marin (production coordinator), Irina-Margareta Nistor (SFR ambassador), and Tudor Reu (producer) will also participate in the meeting with the public. Following the film screening, Pia\u021ba Unirii will host the opening concert featuring Tania Turtureanu. More on the festival <a href=\"https:\/\/festivalsfr.ro\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>TIFF Sibiu \/ TIFF Oradea<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>August 7 \u2013 August 10\/ September 26 \u2013 September 28<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Transilvania International Film Festival (TIFF), the largest film event in the country, holds editions in Sibiu and Oradea, showcasing Romanian films, various focus sections, meetings with directors and actors, and other events. More details <a href=\"https:\/\/sibiu.tiff.ro\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>TIFF Caravan<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>July &#8211; September<\/em><\/p>\n<p>A selection of\u00a0 Romanian and international films, comedies, love stories and films for the whole family will be screened outdoors and in cinemas, between July and September 2025, in Breb (July 12 \u2013 13), T\u00e2rgu L\u0103pu\u0219 (July 18 \u2013 19), Timi\u0219oara (August 1 &#8211; 3), Satu Mare (August 1 &#8211; 3), Media\u0219 (August 22 \u2013 24), Zabola (August 26 \u2013 27), Roman (August 29 \u2013 30), Bu\u0219teni (August 30 \u2013 31), Ia\u0219i (September 5 \u2013 7) and Bra\u0219ov (September 12 \u2013 14).<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>R\u00e2\u0219nov Film and Histories Festival <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>August 8 \u2013 August 24, R\u00e2\u0219nov &amp; Bra\u015fov<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The festival&#8217;s program covers a mix of film screenings, debates, concerts, and other events, most of them held in R\u00e2\u0219nov. This year&#8217;s edition will explore the theme of the &#8220;(anti)system&#8221; \u2013 how is &#8220;the system&#8221; defined, and who are those who oppose it? Could there be any model that all would accept? Or is the existence of these reactionary forces a specificity of the human species, which determines its evolution? These are some of the questions that the festival will attempt to answer in its various sections. The competition dedicated to Romanian short films includes 14 titles selected by film critic Ionu\u021b Mare\u0219, among them <em>@TIKTOK_COWBOY<\/em> by \u0218tefan Anastaseu, <em>Sunny<\/em> by Andreea Parfenov or <em>Hunters in the Snow<\/em> by Mihai Mincan. The program is updated <a href=\"https:\/\/lunaplinafestival.ro\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Eforie Colorat \/ Cinemascop <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Until August 24, Eforie Sud<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Cinemascop\u00a0Garden in Eforie Sud hosts this series of film screenings, ranging from Hollywood blockbusters to European films, documentaries, shorts, experimental films, and productions for children. The program is available\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/carocultura.ro\/spectacole\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Rooftop screenings @ Cinema Studio in Timi\u015foara<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Throughout the summer, Timi\u015foara<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Cinema Studio, one of several movie halls that have been refurbished in the city in recent years, also holds evening film screenings on its rooftop terrace, which can accommodate a public of 80 people. During the weekend of July 10\u2013July 13, the program features a <em>Fran\u00e7ois Truffaut Focus<\/em>, with screenings of <em>The 400 Blows<\/em>, <em>Jules and Jim<\/em>, <em>The Story of Adele H.<\/em>, and <em>Small Change<\/em>.
