{"id":5676,"date":"2025-06-30T09:00:31","date_gmt":"2025-06-30T09:00:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ofero.news\/?p=5676"},"modified":"2025-06-30T09:00:31","modified_gmt":"2025-06-30T09:00:31","slug":"romanian-students-win-four-medals-at-balkan-physics-olympiad","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ofero.news\/?p=5676","title":{"rendered":"Romanian students win four medals at Balkan Physics Olympiad"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Romanian students won three gold medals and one silver medal at the Balkan Physics Olympiad, which took place between June 26\u201330 in North Macedonia.<\/p>\n<p>The event, hosted by the city of Ohrid, brought together 62 students from 16 countries and is the only physics olympiad dedicated exclusively to juniors.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year, Romanian students also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.romania-insider.com\/romania-medals-asian-physics-olympiad-2025\">won seven medals<\/a> at the Asian Physics Olympiad, where they participated as guests.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>At the Balkan Olympiad, the four Romanian students each won a medal, and secured three of the five gold medals. The gold went to Alexandru Jicu, from Gheorghe Vr\u0103nceanu National College, Bac\u0103u; Drago\u015f Popu\u0163e, from Grigore Moisil Theoretical High School, Timi\u015foara; and David Nea\u0163\u0103, from International Informatics Theoretical High School, Bucharest. The silver medal went to Antonio Stoica, from Mircea cel B\u0103tr\u00e2n National College, Constan\u0163a.<\/p>\n<p>Romania\u2019s team was led by Prof. Dr. Costin Dobrot\u0103 from Dimitrie Cantemir National College in One\u015fti and Prof. Adriana Radu from Mihai Viteazul National College in Ploie\u015fti.
