A new section of the Via Transilvanica trail was officially inaugurated on Thursday, June 5, in Bra\u0219ov county, connecting 18 localities over more than 170 kilometers from the village of Viscri to the heart of Bra\u0219ov.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Named Terra Borza Teutonica, the newly added stretch highlights the natural beauty and rural heritage of the region and was made possible through a partnership between the T\u0103\u0219uleasa Social Association, the Bra\u0219ov County Council, and local authorities.<\/p>\n
\u201cThree years after inaugurating the first 1,400 kilometers, we\u2019ve gathered once again to celebrate a newly completed section: Terra Borza Teutonica – 170 kilometers through Bra\u0219ov county. It marks the first step in expanding the trail to other historical regions of the country – our plan for the next 20 years,\u201d reads a post announcing the opening of the new trail on Via Transilvanica\u2019s Facebook page.<\/p>\n\n
The Terra Borza Teutonica segment passes through Bune\u0219ti, Jibert, Ticu\u0219u, \u0218oar\u0219, M\u00e2ndra, \u0218ercaia, \u0218inca, \u0218inca Nou\u0103, Poiana M\u0103rului, Z\u0103rne\u0219ti, Bran, R\u00e2\u0219nov, and Bra\u0219ov, traversing rolling hills, scenic trails along the Olt River, and villages with authentic rural heritage.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The trail follows existing roads and hiking paths that are publicly accessible, without encroaching on private or public property, the Bra\u0219ov County Council said.<\/p>\n\n
The inauguration was preceded by a 10 km hike between Z\u0103rne\u0219ti and Bran, with hundreds of walking enthusiasts joining the route led by Via Transilvanica ambassadors Dana Rogoz and Tibi U\u0219eriu.<\/p>\n
Via Transilvanica is a long-distance hiking route that aims to unite Romania\u2019s regions and communities, promoting ecotourism, cultural discovery, and sustainable development. In 2023, it was one of the\u00a0two Romanian winners of the European Heritage Awards\/Europa Nostra Awards.\u00a0<\/p>\n
