{"id":5068,"date":"2025-05-19T13:00:32","date_gmt":"2025-05-19T13:00:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ofero.news\/?p=5068"},"modified":"2025-05-19T13:00:32","modified_gmt":"2025-05-19T13:00:32","slug":"via-transilvanica-brasov-to-become-third-entry-point-to-long-distance-trail-crossing-romania","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ofero.news\/?p=5068","title":{"rendered":"Via Transilvanica: Bra\u0219ov to become third entry point to long-distance trail crossing Romania"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The central Romania city of Bra\u0219ov will turn into the third entry point to the long-distance trail Via Transilvanica, after Putna and Drobeta Turnu Severin, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bizbrasov.ro\/2025\/05\/19\/piata-sfatului-punct-zero-via-transilvanica\/\" target=\"_blank\">Biz Bra\u0219ov<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The trail, which spans some 1,400 km at the moment, starts in the northern Romania region of Bucovina, at Putna, crosses Transylvania, and ends at Drobeta Turnu Severin, near the Danube shore.<\/p>\n<p>Bra\u0219ov has been added to the trail as part of an extension announced earlier this spring. The upcoming <em>Terra Borza Teutonica<\/em> section of Via Transilvanica will cross the area of 14 administrative units, namely Bune\u015fti, Jibert, \u015eoar\u015f, Ticu\u015f, M\u00e2ndra, \u015eercaia, \u015einca, \u015einca Nou\u0103, Poiana M\u0103rului, Z\u0103rne\u015fti, Moieciu, Bran, R\u00e2\u015fnov and Bra\u015fov.<\/p>\n<p>The trail is dotted with signposts and andesite milestones, individually carved by Romanian and foreign artists. For the new segment, eight additional milestones have been unveiled. Drawn by artist \u0218tefan C\u00e2l\u0163ia and engraved by sculptor Virgil Scripcariu, they feature vegetal and zoomorphic details inspired by the agricultural landscape of the village of \u0218ona.<\/p>\n\n<p>T\u0103\u0219uleasa Social, the non-profit that developed the trail, aims to expand the project to cover all of Romania&#8217;s historical regions in a bid to revitalize local communities.<\/p>\n<p>The trail was inaugurated in 2022 after four years of work with the involvement of local communities and over 10,000 volunteers. It showcases 12 UNESCO World Heritage Sites while crossing ten counties: Suceava, Bistri\u021ba-N\u0103s\u0103ud, Mure\u0219, Harghita, Sibiu, Bra\u0219ov, Alba, Hunedoara, Cara\u0219-Severin and Mehedin\u021bi.
