The Ploie\u0219ti Court of Appeal reinstated the status of protected natural reserve for the Cr\u00e2ng Forest, a remnant of the famous Vl\u0103siei Woods, in a ruling made public on Tuesday, May 13.<\/p>\n
In 2024, the Buz\u0103u County Council approved the revision of a 1995 decision concerning the protection of natural areas and monuments, removing Cr\u00e2ng Forest from the list of county-level protected areas because \u201cparks and public or private recreational gardens are not subject\u201d to legal protections.<\/p>\n
The act adopted in the Council plenary was subsequently challenged in the Buz\u0103u Tribunal by the Prefect institution and a former environmental assessor.<\/p>\n
The first court decided in November 2024 to annul the Council\u2019s decision, according to\u00a0Agerpres<\/a>.<\/p>\n The case concerning the revision of the protected areas list in Buz\u0103u County was then moved to the Ploie\u0219ti Court of Appeal, where the County Council filed an appeal. On Tuesday, the court definitively rejected the appeal, upholding the Buz\u0103u Tribunal\u2019s decision to annul the administrative act that removed Cr\u00e2ng Forest from the list of protected areas.\u00a0<\/p>\n Earlier this year, a study on converting Cr\u00e2ng Forest into a park forest, approved by a decision of the Buz\u0103u Municipal Local Council, was definitively annulled by the Ploie\u0219ti Court of Appeal.<\/p>\n
