{"id":4823,"date":"2025-04-30T10:59:43","date_gmt":"2025-04-30T10:59:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ofero.news\/?p=4823"},"modified":"2025-04-30T10:59:43","modified_gmt":"2025-04-30T10:59:43","slug":"radu-judes-silver-bear-winner-kontinental-25-to-open-in-romanian-cinemas-in-june","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ofero.news\/?p=4823","title":{"rendered":"Radu Jude&#8217;s Silver Bear winner &#8216;Kontinental &#8217;25&#8217; to open in Romanian cinemas in June"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Radu Jude&#8217;s <em>Kontinental &#8217;25<\/em>, which earned the Romanian director a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.romania-insider.com\/jude-silver-bear-kontinental-25-feb-2025\" target=\"_blank\">Silver Bear for Best Screenplay at this year&#8217;s Berlinale<\/a>, is scheduled to open in Romanian cinemas on June 20.<\/p>\n<p>The film, a mix of drama and comedy, follows bailiff Orsolya as she makes various attempts to address her feelings of guilt following the suicide of a homeless man she evicted from his shelter.<\/p>\n<p>The film was shot on an iPhone in Cluj-Napoca and its surroundings and Bucharest in only 11 days. It has been described as partly an homage to Roberto Rossellini&#8217;s <em>Europa &#8217;51.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The cast includes Eszter Tompa, Gabriel Spahiu, Adonis Tan\u021ba, \u0218erban Pavlu, Oana Mardare, Annam\u00e1ria Biluska, Adrian Sitaru, Marius Damian, Nicodim Ungureanu, Ilinca Manolache, and Dan Ursu.<\/p>\n<p>The film, distributed by Independen\u021ba Film, was produced by Saga Film, producer Alex Teodorescu, in co-production with RT Features (Brazil), Bord Cadre Films (Switzerland), Sovereign Films (UK), and Paul Thiltges Distributions (Luxembourg), with support from the Union of Film and Audiovisual Producers of Romania \u2013 Romanian Association for the Management of Audiovisual Works UPFAR \u2013 ARGOA.<\/p>\n<p>Jude won the Golden Bear at the 2021 Berlinale for <em>Babardeal\u0103 cu bucluc sau porno balamuc<\/em> and the Silver Bear for Best Director for<em> Aferim!<\/em> in 2015. He won the CICAE Art Cinema award at the 2009 Berlinale for his debut feature film, <em>Cea mai fericit\u0103 fat\u0103 din lume\/ The Happiest Girl in the World<\/em>. His 2012 feature <em>Toat\u0103 lumea din familia noastr\u0103\/ Everybody in Our Family <\/em>premiered in Berlinale\u2019s Forum section.<\/p>\n<p>His 2016 <em>Inimi cicatrizate\/ Scarred Hearts<\/em> received two awards at the Locarno International Film Festival and brought him the best director award at the Mar del Plata Film Festival.
