Money was reportedly transacted for obtaining benefits, land, docks, and contracts in the Port of Constan\u021ba.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSearches are being conducted at 41 locations across the counties of Constan\u021ba, D\u00e2mbovi\u021ba, Bra\u0219ov, and the municipality of Bucharest. One of these locations is the headquarters of a public institution, while the others are private residences or the offices\/work sites of commercial companies,\u201d DNA said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pna.ro\/comunicat.xhtml?id=12821\">press release<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The investigation reportedly targets Ion Dumitrache, the local head of PSD, and officials from the National Company Maritime Ports Administration Constan\u021ba (CN APMC) alongside others.<\/p>\n<p>Among the businessmen under investigation are, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.g4media.ro\/breaking-41-de-perchezitii-dna-in-portul-constanta-si-alte-locatii-spagi-de-milioane-de-euro-sustin-procurorii-ancheta-vizeaza-oameni-de-afaceri-locali-influenti-fosti-vamesi-influenti-in-port-si.html\">G4Media and ISE<\/a>, Vasile Costea and Jean Paul Tucan, former mayor of N\u0103vodari. The first had reportedly set up a complex bribery circuit to obtain various benefits in the Port of Constan\u021ba.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The company that manages the Port of Constan\u021ba stated that it is cooperating fully with the investigation.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Maritime Ports Administration is offering full support to judicial authorities. The general director and financial director are making available to DNA prosecutors all requested documents and all necessary information to support the investigation.
