{"id":3838,"date":"2025-02-22T19:03:45","date_gmt":"2025-02-22T19:03:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ofero.news\/?p=3838"},"modified":"2025-02-22T19:03:45","modified_gmt":"2025-02-22T19:03:45","slug":"berlinale-2025-romanian-director-radu-jude-wins-second-silver-bear-with-kontinental-25","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ofero.news\/?p=3838","title":{"rendered":"Berlinale 2025: Romanian director Radu Jude wins second Silver Bear with Kontinental &#8217;25"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Romanian director <strong>Radu Jude<\/strong> has won the Silver Bear for Best Screenplay for Kontinental &#8217;25 at this year&#8217;s Berlin International Film Festival\/ Berlinale.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Kontinental &#8217;25 is Jude\u2019s third film awarded in Berlinale\u2019s main competition, after Aferim!, which earned him the Silver Bear for Best Director in 2015, and Babardeal\u0103 cu bucluc sau porno balamuc\/ Bad Luck Banging or Loony Porn, for which he took home the Golden Bear in 2021.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The film, a mix of drama and comedy, follows bailiff Orsolya as she makes various attempts to address her feelings of guilt following the suicide of a homeless man she evicted from his shelter. <\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Shot on an iPhone and minimal equipment, it has been described as partly an homage to Roberto\u00a0Rossellini\u2019s Europa \u201951.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The cast includes Eszter Tompa, Gabriel Spahiu, Adonis Tan\u021ba, \u0218erban Pavlu, Oana Mardare, Annam\u00e1ria Biluska, Adrian Sitaru, Marius Damian, Nicodim Ungureanu, Ilinca Manolache, and Dan Ursu.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The film is produced by Saga Film in co-production with RT Features (Brazil), Bord Cadre Films (Switzerland), Sovereign Films (UK), and Paul Thiltges Distributions (Luxembourg).<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">It is expected to open in local cinemas this spring.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<\/p><p>The full list of awards granted at this year&#8217;s Berlinale is available <a href=\"https:\/\/www.berlinale.de\/en\/festival\/awards-and-juries\/international-jury.html\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Jude won the CICAE Art Cinema award at the 2009 Berlinale for his debut feature film, Cea mai fericit\u0103 fat\u0103 din lume\/ The Happiest Girl in the World. His 2012 feature Toat\u0103 lumea din familia noastr\u0103\/ Everybody in Our Family premiered in Berlinale\u2019s Forum section.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">His 2016 Inimi cicatrizate\/ Scarred Hearts received two awards at the Locarno International Film Festival and brought him the best director award at the Mar del Plata Film Festival.
