{"id":3485,"date":"2025-01-29T07:59:27","date_gmt":"2025-01-29T07:59:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ofero.news\/?p=3485"},"modified":"2025-01-29T07:59:27","modified_gmt":"2025-01-29T07:59:27","slug":"romania-moldova-apply-for-eur-77-mln-eu-funds-to-finance-road-railway-infrastructure-projects","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ofero.news\/?p=3485","title":{"rendered":"Romania, Moldova apply for EUR 77 mln EU funds to finance road, railway infrastructure projects"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Romania has requested EUR 77 million of European funds to finance two infrastructure projects connecting Romania with the Republic of Moldova, namely the Albi\u021ba &#8211; Leu\u0219eni Bridge, along with an access road, and the rehabilitation of the Roman &#8211; Ia\u0219i &#8211; Frontier\u0103 &#8211; Ungheni railway, announced the Secretary of State for Transport Ionel Scrio\u0219teanu, <a href=\"https:\/\/economedia.ro\/romania-si-republica-moldova-solicita-77-milioane-de-euro-bani-europeni-pentru-proiecte-comune-de-infrastructura-rutiera-si-feroviara.html?mc_cid=1fca84edf2&amp;mc_eid=cd1f92f96c\" target=\"_blank\">Economedia.ro<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>Thus, Romania and the Republic of Moldova have submitted two joint funding applications under the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) scheme.<\/p>\n<p>The projects aim to develop cross-border road and rail infrastructure, both on the Romanian and Moldovan sides.<\/p>\n<p>The first funded project is the Albita Bridge (RO) &#8211; Leuseni (MD), along with an 8 km access road, which involves the modernization and equipment of the Border Crossing Point. The total value is EUR 87.6 million, of which the EU funding would be 50%. The CEF support requested by the Romanian beneficiary is EUR 17 million.<\/p>\n<p>The second project aims to rehabilitate the Roman &#8211; Ia\u0219i &#8211; Border &#8211; Ungheni railway. The total value of the project is EUR 67.6 million, of which EU funding is 50%.
