{"id":3249,"date":"2025-01-10T08:11:22","date_gmt":"2025-01-10T08:11:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ofero.news\/?p=3249"},"modified":"2025-01-10T08:11:22","modified_gmt":"2025-01-10T08:11:22","slug":"ec-rejects-request-from-romania-and-moldova-for-temporary-co2-certificates-waiver","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ofero.news\/?p=3249","title":{"rendered":"EC rejects request from Romania and Moldova for temporary CO2 certificates waiver"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The European Commission has refused to grant a temporary derogation from the obligation to purchase greenhouse gas emission certificates (CO2) for natural gas and coal-fired energy produced by Romanian companies OMV Petrom and CEO for the Republic of Moldova, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.profit.ro\/povesti-cu-profit\/energie\/comisia-europeana-a-refuzat-sa-acorde-derogare-de-la-taxa-co2-pentru-exporturile-romanesti-de-energie-electrica-pe-gaze-si-carbune-in-republica-moldova-21892361?mc_cid=5dd6e6d9fe&amp;mc_eid=cd1f92f96c\" target=\"_blank\">Profit.ro<\/a> quoting energy minister Sebastian Burduja.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Romania and Moldova <a href=\"https:\/\/www.romania-insider.com\/romania-european-commission-electricity-moldova-january-2025\" target=\"_blank\">requested<\/a> such a derogation recently in the context of Gazprom cutting the natural gas supplies to Moldova, causing an energy crisis in the separatist region Transnistria.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Directorate General for Climate Action is not in favor of this solution.
