{"id":2683,"date":"2024-11-21T07:59:56","date_gmt":"2024-11-21T07:59:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ofero.news\/?p=2683"},"modified":"2024-11-21T07:59:56","modified_gmt":"2024-11-21T07:59:56","slug":"nationalist-simion-and-reformist-lasconi-compete-for-a-spot-in-romanian-presidential-run-off","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ofero.news\/?p=2683","title":{"rendered":"Nationalist Simion and reformist Lasconi compete for a spot in Romanian presidential run-off\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Social Democrat (PSD) leader and prime minister Marcel Ciolacu remains the frontrunner in Romania\u2019s presidential race that sees its first round on November 24, polling at 24.3%, according to a survey by AtlasIntel conducted between November 15\u201320 and published by <a href=\"https:\/\/hotnews.ro\/exclusiv-sondaj-atlasintel-marcel-ciolacu-in-scadere-usoara-ciuca-creste-vizibil-studiul-confirma-declinul-unuia-dintre-favoriti-1839887?mc_cid=d94479a289&amp;mc_eid=cd1f92f96c\" target=\"_blank\">Hotnews.ro<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The fight for second place and a spot in the run-off remains tight between nationalist George Simion (AUR) and reformist Elena Lasconi (USR), separated by a narrow margin.<\/p>\n<p>The survey, based on 2,003 respondents, employed random digital recruitment and has a margin of error of \u00b12%, with a confidence level of 95%.<\/p>\n<p>George Simion currently stands at 15.4%, edging just ahead of USR candidate Elena Lasconi, who polls at 15.3%. Both candidates gained one percentage point compared to the last AtlasIntel poll published on November 14.<\/p>\n<p>Liberal leader Nicolae Ciuc\u0103 (PNL) gains momentum, while independent candidate Mircea Geoan\u0103 slides.<\/p>\n<p>In fourth place is PNL leader Nicolae Ciuc\u0103, who has seen the most significant improvement, rising to 12.1% from 10.2% eight days prior.
