CNAIR, the company that manages the road infrastructure, announced that the iconic Transf\u0103g\u0103r\u0103\u0219an road closed for traffic on the section from Piscu Negru (km 104) to B\u00e2lea Cascad\u0103 (km 130.8) starting Tuesday morning, November 12, due to bad weather conditions.<\/p>\n
The closure came in response to sub-zero temperatures ranging from -3\u00b0C to -11\u00b0C, combined with sleet and snow, which create dangerous driving conditions, CNAIR said.<\/p>\n
\u201c[\u2026] atmospheric instability is accentuated at high altitudes and can produce extreme weather phenomena at any time,\u201d reads the announcement.<\/p>\n
The closed section will be marked with appropriate signage, reminding drivers and tourists of the restrictions.<\/p>\n\n
The Transf\u0103g\u0103r\u0103\u0219an typically remains closed through the winter and spring months, reopening around June, depending on weather conditions.<\/p>\n
