Ten of them\u00a0have the backing of political parties, while four are independents.<\/p>\n<p>The Bureau also announced the order in which candidates will appear on the ballot after a random draw, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.digi24.ro\/stiri\/actualitate\/politica\/alegerile-prezidentiale-2024-bec-a-validat-14-candidati-in-cursa-pentru-cotroceni-2963603\">Digi24<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The order on the ballot is as follows:\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Elena Lasconi &#8211; Save Romania Union (USR)<br \/>\nGeorge Simion &#8211; Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR)<br \/>\nMarcel Ciolacu &#8211; Social Democratic Party (PSD)<br \/>\nNicolae Ciuc\u0103 &#8211; National Liberal Party (PNL)<br \/>\nHunor Kelemen &#8211; Democratic Alliance of Hungarians in Romania (UDMR)<br \/>\nMircea Geoan\u0103 &#8211; Independent Candidate\u00a0<br \/>\nAna Birchall &#8211; Independent Candidate\u00a0<br \/>\nAlexandra Beatrice Bertalan-P\u0103curaru &#8211; Alternative for National Dignity\u00a0<br \/>\nSebastian-Constantin Popescu &#8211; New Romania Party\u00a0<br \/>\nLudovic Orban &#8211; Right Force Party (FD)<br \/>\nC\u0103lin Georgescu &#8211; Independent Candidate\u00a0<br \/>\nCristian Diaconescu &#8211; Independent Candidate\u00a0<br \/>\nCristian-Vasile Terhe\u0219 &#8211; Romanian National Conservative Party\u00a0<br \/>\nSilviu Predoiu &#8211; National Action League Party\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Central Electoral Bureau also decided to reject several candidacies submitted in the last 48 hours, including the second one submitted by far-right MEP Diana Iovanovici-\u0218o\u0219oac\u0103 (SOS). The decision, in principle, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.romania-insider.com\/bec-rejects-diana-sosoaca-presidential-candidacy-2024\">consolidates<\/a> the position of the other, more moderate far-right candidate George Simion (AUR).<\/p>\n<p>The electoral campaign for this year\u2019s presidential elections will begin on October 25 at midnight and will end on November 23 at 7 AM. Voting in the first round is scheduled take place on November 24.
