According to the local media, he is accused of having taken bribes from patients or their relatives.<\/p>\n<p>Judicial sources cited by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.digi24.ro\/stiri\/actualitate\/nelu-tataru-este-acuzat-de-luare-de-mita-de-la-pacienti-fostul-ministru-al-sanatatii-audiat-la-dna-2962795\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Digi24<\/a> said that the prosecutors have evidence that T\u0103taru, currently a surgeon at the hospital in Hu\u0219i, had received bribery in food or money at least 100 times.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Nelu T\u0103taru was minister of health during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. He is the president of the Vaslui branch of the National Liberal Party (PNL) and deputy, thus benefiting from parliamentary immunity.<\/p>\n<p>However, PNL leader and presidential candidate announced on Thursday that Nelu T\u0103taru was released from the position of president of the PNL Vaslui branch and from the leadership of the Health Committee in the Chamber of Deputies, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.agerpres.ro\/politica\/2024\/10\/10\/ciuca-nelu-tataru-eliberat-din-functia-de-presedinte-al-pnl-vaslui-si-de-la-conducerea-comisiei-de-sanatate--1368555\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Agerpres<\/a> reported.
