The quake occurred in Buz\u0103u County at a depth of 124.1 kilometers.<\/p>\n<p>The epicenter <a href=\"https:\/\/infp.ro\/products.php?id=YklqeG5PWmhoUldRUlRZazRtaVNSUT09&amp;lang=ro\">was located<\/a> 54 km south of Buz\u0103u, 58 km east of Bra\u0219ov, 60 km southeast of Sf\u00e2ntu Gheorghe, and 62 km north of Ploie\u0219ti. It was also 72 km south of Foc\u0219ani and 90 km northeast of T\u00e2rgovi\u0219te.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/infp.ro\/comments.php?id=YklqeG5PWmhoUldRUlRZazRtaVNSUT09&amp;intensity=4&amp;lang=ro\">comments<\/a> on the Institute&#8217;s website, the earthquake was felt in Bucharest, as well as cities such as Gala\u021bi, Sibiu, Ia\u0219i, Tulcea, Br\u01ceila, or Constan\u021ba.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo far, no calls have been received through the 112 emergency service, and no property damage or casualties have been reported,\u201d Romania\u2019s General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) said shortly after the earthquake. \u201cOperational crews are in the field conducting reconnaissance missions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo?fbid=1557423473095652&amp;set=a.252691593568853\">https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo?fbid=1557423473095652&amp;set=a.252691593568853<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Bucharest emergency crews sent a specialized vehicle to inspect the capital\u2019s Old Town for possible damage.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt this time, an ISU Bucharest-Ilfov vehicle is conducting a reconnaissance mission in the Old Town area to identify any possible consequences,\u201d the local emergency inspectorate said, as quoted by <a href=\"https:\/\/agerpres.ro\/social\/2026\/10\/19\/pompierii-bucuresteni-verifica-daca-in-centrul-vechi-sunt-posibile-consecinte-ale-cutremurului--1604365\">Agerpres<\/a>. \u201cNo calls have been registered through the 112 emergency number.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>IGSU also reminded the public that Romania\u2019s RO-ALERT system does not issue warnings before earthquakes.<\/p>\n<p>Monday\u2019s earthquake was the strongest recorded in Romania so far this year, according to Agerpres.
