The area joins six other destinations that already hold the designation.<\/p>\n<p>The recognition will remain valid for three years and covers the localities of M\u0103ge\u0219ti, Vadu Cri\u0219ului, \u0218uncuiu\u0219, Bratca, Bulz, Reme\u021bi, C\u0103be\u0219ti, and Ro\u0219ia.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/agerpres.ro\/economic\/2026\/10\/07\/darau-padurea-craiului-devine-destinatie-ecoturistica--1600861\">Agerpres<\/a>, Romania\u2019s other recognised ecotourism destinations are \u021ainutul Zimbrului-V\u00e2n\u0103tori-Neam\u021b Natural Park in Neam\u021b county, with a designation valid until 2028; Eco Maramure\u0219-Mara-Cos\u0103u-Creasta Coco\u0219ului in Maramure\u0219 county, valid until 2029; \u021aara Dornelor in Suceava county, valid until 2026; \u021aara Ha\u021begului in Hunedoara county, valid until 2027; Vama Buz\u0103ului in Bra\u0219ov county, valid until 2026; and B\u0103ile Tu\u0219nad and its surroundings in Harghita county, also valid until 2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is not just a title. It is recognition of a model in which nature, heritage, local communities, and the economy must develop together,\u201d Irineu Dar\u0103u said after signing the document.<\/p>\n<p>The minister also stated that developing a tourism destination required more than natural attractions, pointing to the importance of management, infrastructure, services, and coordinated promotion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cP\u0103durea Craiului shows that a tourist destination is not built solely on the beauty of a place,\u201d he said. \u201cIt is also built through administration, infrastructure, good services, and consistent promotion.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Minister Dar\u0103u further added that the designation should create opportunities for local entrepreneurs and generate jobs and income within the participating communities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is the direction Romanian tourism must take: we should not limit ourselves to saying that we have beautiful places, but build competitive, recognisable, and responsible destinations around them,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo\/?fbid=1755024513290451&amp;set=a.297652522360998\">https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo\/?fbid=1755024513290451&amp;set=a.297652522360998<\/a><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Romania has officially recognised P\u0103durea Craiului (Craiului Forest) as an ecotourism destination, interim economy and tourism minister Irineu Dar\u0103u announced.
