[&#8230;] It is absolutely necessary to see what Mr Niculescu&#8217;s economic and social vision is and whether it is compatible with the governing programme prepared by the PSD,\u201d PSD president Sorin Grindeanu said.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier on October 5, following consultations with president Nicusor Dan, Grindeanu said that \u201cPSD seeks to be part of the solution\u201d, but later said he was \u201cdisappointed\u201d by the designation of an independent candidate for the prime ministerial position.<\/p>\n<p>President Nicusor Dan <a href=\"https:\/\/www.romania-insider.com\/news\/romanian-president-nicusor-dan-nominates-independent-luca-niculescu\">designated independent candidate Luca Niculescu on October 5<\/a> to form a new government, after three previous attempts failed, two in Parliament and one before reaching a parliamentary vote.<\/p>\n<p>Dan had earlier signalled that early elections were no longer excluded, but has not indicated whether he would seek to trigger them if Niculescu fails to secure a parliamentary majority.<\/p>\n<p>US investment bank JPMorgan, in a note to clients cited by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.profit.ro\/stiri\/politic\/ultima-ora-semnal-intern-catre-clienti-privind-soarta-luca-niculescu-probabilitate-circa-60-treaca-parlament-nazare-ramane-probabil-noul-guvern-singurul-linisti-pietele-financiare-jpmorgan-22805769?mc_cid=1c1ea86f4d&amp;mc_eid=cd1f92f96c\">Profit.ro<\/a>, estimated the probability of Niculescu&#8217;s government winning parliamentary approval at 60% \u2013 a cautious assessment.
