{"id":11828,"date":"2026-09-03T07:00:35","date_gmt":"2026-09-03T07:00:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ofero.news\/?p=11828"},"modified":"2026-09-03T07:00:35","modified_gmt":"2026-09-03T07:00:35","slug":"paul-lynch-david-foenkinos-and-aleksandar-hemon-among-guests-of-this-years-literature-festival-in-iasi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ofero.news\/?p=11828","title":{"rendered":"Paul Lynch, David Foenkinos and Aleksandar Hemon among guests of this year\u2019s literature festival in Ia\u0219i"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <em>Ia\u0219i International Literature and Translation Festival<\/em> (FILIT) returns this October, when the public will have the opportunity to meet leading names from the Romanian and international literary and cultural scene.<\/p>\n<p>Among the authors who will be present in Ia\u0219i are <strong><em>Paul Lynch<\/em><\/strong>, the winner of the 2023 Booker Prize for the novel <em>Prophet Song<\/em>, which has received numerous other international awards and has been translated into more than 35 languages, and French novelist and playwright <strong><em>David Foenkinos<\/em><\/strong>, known for his best-selling novels, which have been translated into around 40 languages.<\/p>\n<p>The festival will also welcome <strong><em>Parinoush Saniee<\/em><\/strong>, the author of <em>The Book of Fate<\/em>, which was banned twice in Iran before becoming an international bestseller translated into more than 26 languages and receiving numerous awards. Also attending will be <strong><em>Aleksandar Hemon<\/em><\/strong>, the Bosnian-American writer whose numerous accolades include major international literary prizes. He is the author of the novels <em>The Lazarus Project <\/em>and <em>The Nowhere Man<\/em>, and co-wrote <em>The Matrix Resurrections<\/em>, the fourth film in the sci-fi franchise.<\/p>\n<p>Other authors announced by the Ia\u0219i festival include: Elena Alexieva (Bulgaria), \u00c9ric Chacour (Canada), Yavuz Ekinci (Turkey), Milena Michiko Fla\u0161ar (Austria), Ramon Gener (Spain), Din\u00e7er G\u00fc\u00e7yeter (Germany), Hallgr\u00edmur Helgason (Iceland), Roskva Koritzinsky (Norway), Alexandre Lenot (France), Andriy Lyubka (Ukraine), Laura Pariani (Italy), Anna S\u00f3lyom (Hungary), Marek Tor\u010d\u00edk (Czech Republic), Hattie Williams (United Kingdom), and Gabriella Zalap\u00ec (Switzerland).<\/p>\n<p>The Romanian writers taking part in this year\u2019s edition include Gabriela Adame\u0219teanu, Simona Antonescu, Andreea Berechet, Iulian Bocai, Lavinia Brani\u0219te, Geanina C\u0103rbunariu, Gilbert Costache, Gelu Duminic\u0103, Filip Florian, Delia Grigore, Florin Irimia, Ilinca M\u0103nescu, Mircea Mih\u0103ie\u0219, Alex Moldovan, Ana-Maria Negril\u0103, Ioana P\u00e2rvulescu, Florin Pitea, Radu Paraschivescu, Andreea Sterea, Adriana \u0218tefan, Daniel Timariu, Ioana Unk, Cristian Vicol, and Vlad Zografi.<\/p>\n<p>Poets Andrei D\u00f3sa, Silvia Goteanschii, Emanuel Guralivu, Emanuela Ign\u0103\u0163oiu-Sora, Vasile Leac, Ciprian M\u0103ce\u0219aru, Andrei Novac, Sorina R\u00eenda\u0219u, Codru\u021ba Simina, and Moni St\u0103nil\u0103 will also meet audiences at events throughout October.<\/p>\n<p>FILIT 2026 will also bring together translators who make it possible for Romanian authors to reach bookstores and publishing markets abroad. They include Iulia Badea-Gu\u00e9rit\u00e9e (France), Alexandru Bulucz (Germany), Jan Cornelius (Germany), Anna Ka\u017amierczak (Poland), Eva Kenderessy (Slovakia), Joanna Korna\u015b-Warwas (Poland), Borja Mozo Mart\u00edn (Spain), Marian Ochoa de Eribe (Spain), Charlotte van Rooden (the Netherlands), Andreea Scridon (Romania\/US), and Imre Sz\u0151cs (Romania).<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s FILIT takes place from October 21 to October 25.
