The building of the railway station in S\u0103cel, in Maramure\u0219 County, will host contemporary art and community programs as part of a project developed by the Romanian Association for Contemporary Art (ARAC)\/ Anca Potera\u0219u Gallery.<\/p>\n
The station in S\u0103cel (Halta S\u0103cel) is located on an active railway line, with four trains stopping there daily.<\/p>\n
This summer, the building was repaired and adapted for cultural activities in a project \u201cpreserving the building\u2019s identity and complying with the specific requirements of railway infrastructure.\u201d<\/p>\n
Romania\u2019s national railway company CFR has made the building of the train station available to ARAC for the project Linia Izei Art Center<\/em>. As part of the project, the building has been turned into a permanent space dedicated to contemporary art, artist residencies and community programs, while railway operations in the area continue, CFR announced<\/a>.<\/p>\n Linia Izei Art Center is inaugurated on Thursday, September 3, with the exhibition Rhythms of Continuity<\/em>, gathering works by the artists Matei Bejenaru, Iosif Kir\u00e1ly, Aurora Kir\u00e1ly, Ioana C\u00eerlig, Megan Dominescu, Iulian Bisericaru, Mihaela Moldovan, Dan Vezentan, Radu Mar\u021bin, Anton Kir\u00e1ly, Ilie Mihali and Anetta Mona Chi\u0219a.
