{"id":11057,"date":"2026-07-13T12:00:33","date_gmt":"2026-07-13T12:00:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ofero.news\/?p=11057"},"modified":"2026-07-13T12:00:33","modified_gmt":"2026-07-13T12:00:33","slug":"romania-events-chamber-music-festival-sonoro-musikland-kicks-off-eighth-edition-in-transylvania","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ofero.news\/?p=11057","title":{"rendered":"Romania events: Chamber music festival SoNoRo Musikland kicks off eighth edition in Transylvania"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The eighth edition of <em>SoNoRo Musikland<\/em> will take place from July 17 to July 27 in Sibiu, Avrig, Porumbacu de Sus, Cop\u0219a Mare, Sighi\u0219oara, Me\u0219endorf, Cri\u021b, Viscri, and Poiana Bra\u0219ov.<\/p>\n<p>This year&#8217;s festival will feature 11 days of programming and 14 events, including nine concerts and five jam sessions held in venues showcasing the region&#8217;s architectural and cultural heritage.<\/p>\n<p>The opening concert<em>, Con Spirito<\/em>, will take place on July 17 in the ceremonial hall of the ASTRA Sibiu County Library, the first public library of Romanians in Transylvania.<\/p>\n<p>This year&#8217;s festival will return to several venues featured in previous editions, including the Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Parish Church and the Hall of Mirrors at the Democratic Forum of Germans in Romania in Sibiu, the Cop\u0219a Mare Fortified Church (<em>pictured<\/em>), the Ceremonial Hall of Sighi\u0219oara City Hall, the Me\u0219endorf Fortified Church and Me\u0219endorf Gasthaus, Cross Critz Guesthouse in Cri\u021b, King Charles III&#8217;s House in Viscri, and Viscri 125 Guesthouse.<\/p>\n<p>The program also introduces new venues, namely the Contemporary Art Museum of the Brukenthal National Museum, Somarest in Avrig, Porumbacu 216 in Porumbacu de Sus, and the Swiss\u00f4tel in Poiana Bra\u0219ov.<\/p>\n<p>Among the musicians performing at this year&#8217;s SoNoRo Musikland are violinists Nicolas Dautricourt, Abig\u00e9l Kr\u00e1lik, Alissa Margulis, Julia Pusk\u00e9r, and Sebastian Manning; violists R\u0103zvan Popovici, Mathis Rochat, Emanuel Vots, and \u0218tefana Munteanu; cellists Julian Arp, Alexey Stadler, and Radu Nagy; pianists Dana Cioc\u00e2rlie, Josu Oki\u00f1ena, and Ioan-Drago\u0219 Dimitriu; harpist Miruna Nagy; and accordionist Radu R\u0103\u021boi.<\/p>\n<p>Tickets for the concerts are available through Eventbook, while admission to the children&#8217;s workshops is free.<\/p>\n<p><em>(Photo:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dreamstime.com\/achilles_info\">Serban Enache<\/a>\u00a0|\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dreamstime.com\/stock-photos\">Dreamstime.com<\/a>)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>simona@romania-insider.com<\/em><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The eighth edition of SoNoRo Musikland will take place from July 17 to July 27 in Sibiu, Avrig, Porumbacu de Sus, Cop\u0219a Mare, Sighi\u0219oara, Me\u0219endorf, Cri\u021b, Viscri, and Poiana Bra\u0219ov.
