{"id":10485,"date":"2026-06-05T07:00:33","date_gmt":"2026-06-05T07:00:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ofero.news\/?p=10485"},"modified":"2026-06-05T07:00:33","modified_gmt":"2026-06-05T07:00:33","slug":"bucharest-mayor-warns-of-two-years-of-major-road-works-and-traffic-disruption","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ofero.news\/?p=10485","title":{"rendered":"Bucharest mayor warns of two years of major road works and traffic disruption"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Bucharest mayor <strong>Ciprian Ciucu<\/strong> said extensive infrastructure works will continue over the next two years, warning residents to expect prolonged traffic disruption as the city undertakes large-scale upgrades to transport and utility networks, <a href=\"https:\/\/agerpres.ro\/administratie\/2026\/06\/04\/ciucu-e-nevoie-in-urmatorii-2-ani-de-lucrari-de-infrastructura-serioase-fac-apel-la-bucuresteni-sa-i--1563098?mc_cid=5bff83a000&amp;mc_eid=cd1f92f96c\" target=\"_blank\">Agerpres<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>Officials said the programme aims to modernise ageing infrastructure and reduce long-term maintenance costs, even if it generates short-term disruption for residents.<\/p>\n<p>Ciucu said the works are necessary to place the capital\u2019s infrastructure \u201con solid foundations\u201d and improve long-term traffic flow and public transport efficiency. He added that Bucharest is currently undergoing construction activity \u201cat a level not seen for a long time\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know that there will be two difficult years, two years of discomfort in traffic,\u201d Ciucu said in a Facebook video message. \u201cBut, in the end, it will be much better.
