{"id":10089,"date":"2026-05-08T11:00:24","date_gmt":"2026-05-08T11:00:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ofero.news\/?p=10089"},"modified":"2026-05-08T11:00:24","modified_gmt":"2026-05-08T11:00:24","slug":"two-central-bucharest-streets-set-to-undergo-modernization","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ofero.news\/?p=10089","title":{"rendered":"Two central Bucharest streets set to undergo modernization"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two of the most important streets in Bucharest, the Ion Mihalache Boulevard and Calea Grivi\u021bei, will undergo modernization work in the following period, according to an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/PMBucuresti\/posts\/pfbid02qFj4wywDbogSTMBigTm5oLjzzuy82gkbyCL2RfgxpLiV44VUwu95xhzH3gi3osXdl\">announcement<\/a> made by Bucharest City Hall on Thursday, May 7.<\/p>\n<p>The streets in question are poorly maintained, difficult to travel on, with illegally parked cars and destroyed green spaces.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will transform them into boulevards with modern infrastructure, integrated bike lanes, safe sidewalks for pedestrians, and plenty of greenery,\u201d the authorities said.<\/p>\n<p>Documentation is almost ready, and the necessary approvals are in place for works to begin on the Ion Mihalache Boulevard, which has a length of 3.5 km. Documentation is still underway for Calea Grivi\u021bei, with a length of 3.9 km.<\/p>\n<p>Both streets are part of the Bucharest City Hall\u2019s program to modernize the road infrastructure. Roughly RON 15.8 million (EUR 3 million) has been allocated for several projects in the program.<\/p>\n<p>Rehabilitation work will be carried out starting this year on the Cooperative Road as part of the city-wide modernization program. Nicolae Mavrogheni, located in a historic area of Bucharest, will be pedestrianized, with car access only for residents. Similarly, Calea 13 Septembrie will be redesigned and integrated into the \u201cCity-Park\u201d concept, with pedestrian and road traffic completely reorganized.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, feasibility studies will be prepared for Avionului Street, Nisipoasa Road, Coste\u0219ti Street, Criste\u0219ti Street, Lonea Street, and Jandarmeriei Street.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this week, the Bucharest City Council <a href=\"https:\/\/www.romania-insider.com\/bucharest-2026-budget-increased-investments\">adopted a new budget<\/a> worth RON 8.49 billion, of which RON 2.1 billion will go to investments.
